Well, I took your advice to get out (I love the commentary on the home page), took last Friday off, and I did more exploring of the Fish Creek "Trail".   I got to the second bridge (about 5 miles up the trail) before I had to turn around and go back.  I must thank whoever it was who clued me into that trail.  Although not a true trail, it is very pretty, following the creek, with LOTS of interesting views.  The two old bridges are kind of interesting too.  From the map at the second bridge, it looks like that trail was what used to be FS road 54 until it was closed.  The other comments about it being even prettier after the fish creek/wash creek confluence are true as well.  I'd love to get further back in there, and see what is beyond.

I was rather sore on Saturday, but it was WELL worth it!  I'm looking forward to getting out again REAL soon!

I haven't seen any comments on the origins of pegleg falls....I was hoping someone here knew the history of them.  That would be an interesting story I'm sure.
