Hiked Rho Creek yesterday and was really pleased to see it has had quite a bit of maintenance on it - at least below the 4672 road. There were a couple of logs, but it was almost completely clear of downed logs. It was apparent the trail has been seeing both some maintenance and also some foot traffic. I hadn't hiked in 6 years and my recollection was that in most spots the tread was covered with moss - there is now definite tread along most of the trail. There are still a few rough spots (Tumble Creek crossing and a couple spots thru open areas, including the upper clearcut), but overall it was in pretty good shape. There were a couple of new blowdowns which put holes in the tread. One was just a hole in the tread (relatively easy to walk thru) and then this one which is right on the trail and requires a more difficult uphill walk around:
We ended up going above 4672 and actually made our way to where this trail connects with Rho Ridge. It was an interesting trip. If you go, be prepared for a LOT of downed logs above 4672 - once you get up the hill and the trail gets flat, there are maybe 200 logs downed - they are mostly all small, but there are a lot of them.
