  • Bagby to Pansy Lake Trail

Back in '79 I took my new girl and a '56 topo map to Bagby.  We made a loop hike to Pansy Lake, Twin Lakes and back down to Bagby.  We followed a trail out of Bagby to the east up the ridge and then south to Pansy.  The trail was on my map but had been abandoned we found.  When we got to the top of the ridge we hiked into a clear cut with no sign of a trail.  The road lead to the Pansy Lake trail and we went on our way.  I have not been back to that side of Pansy Lake but  the trees must be back by now.  Has anyone else been on that trail?

  • I have not, but it does show on the '46 map...interesting, I'll bet it's still hiding out there!  Thanks for the info.  Amazing how many trails are sleeping out there.  Now that some of the clearcuts are recovering it would be a great time to resurrect some of these old timers before nature swallows em' up for good.  Wouldn't it be great to go from Promontory to Bull of the Woods all on historic trails?  I'm a dreamer...
