  • Rho Ridge/Hawk Mountain question

Spent Sunday hiking to the summit of Hawk Mountain, started at the southern end of Rho Ridge trail and enjoyed a beautiful day on the trails. Many thanks to the Advocates who had painted the cabin, it looks great. Strange pile of rocks inside the cabin, under the now abandoned chimney pipe. Last time I visited, there weren't any rocks inside. I notice on an old map I have of the area a trail from Round Meadow to "Gyp Point". Does anyone know if the trail still exists or if there's a viewpoint to the west from there? Of course I noticed this trail on my map after I returned home.

This map is a topo map from an old book I have called "Oregon's Hidden Wilderness", about 1978, but the map data is probably older than that.....

  • No one has found it yet. I think that side is logged off.
    Glad you liked the cabin.
Would like to get the other lightning rod up someday.
