Came across this video produced by the forest service on the management of Fish Creek.  I am hoping to get out there this weekend or next.

Surprising that the F.S. takes full blame, and accredits the cause as too much road building and timber harvest.  We'll see what attitudes are 30 years from now...

A while back, someone posted a PDF that talked about many of the same things, but it was interesting to see some of the video footage.  I wonder if it is recovering as well as expected?  It has been over 10 years now.

I thought the music helped emphasize just how dramatic the floods were...just kidding.  I thought the very beginning was especially over the top.  Still though it was pretty crazy to see the old road packed with massive backhoes and bulldozers.  I often wonder if all the efforts to return fish creek to a more natural ecosystem have been considered a success.
