That was an interesting picture.  I'm guessing that covered bridge is in roughly the same spot as the current bridge running into the South end of Estacada?  Sure gives you a different perspective.  You can see a horse and buggy coming out of the covered bridge!

Cool picture. I'm wondering if this was before or after the River Mill Dam. The river looks more like it does now as a lake. Wonder if there was a dam prior to the current River Mill Dam. Might look into that.

Great website on the history of estacada and the area. Really a lot of cool pics. In its heyday Eagle Creek was the big town with dance hall and saloon. Then Estacada with its early resort tourism bringing in folks on open train cars from Portland. The pics were rescued out of a longtime residents attic or some such story. Interesting pics of La-Dee flats, the story of power and the bridge and dam construction on the Clackamas river.
