Hi, how is the west end of the trail for access or even camping?  Looks like an interesting place to spend a couple days with 2 trails in the vicinity.  I'm sure the trail needs some picking up if it's little used.

From Winslow Pit the 4611 gets real rough with deep mod holes and a grade slip.  The trail down to the river is quite steep.  There is a small camp at the river at the edge of the flood plain.  Hasn't been used for several years.
Now would be a real tough time to cross the river.  But, there is a very old camp area half way up the east side with a flat near a spring.  Look for the old kerosene can.  Extremely remote.  Very few visitors on the stretch of the trail from the river up to the junction with Dry Ridge Trail.

Thank you.  "etremely remote" my kind of place.

Is the 4611 road past Winslow driveable?  Worse than the Abbot Road?  I think I'd most likely try to get up there in early Summer.  It's also interesting at the old Twin Springs camp, but the campground is kind of depressing.  Hasn't been well respected these days.

These light use trails need a bit more traffic to keep them active.
