I thought I would post this link - it is a short ODOT video showing some of the burned area on 224 east/south of Estacada.  It give you a small idea of what the burned area looks like: https://twitter.com/i/status/1306725138394763266 If anyone finds any other photos or videos from inside the burn area I would appreciate if you posted links to them here.

Wow - that is WAY better than I was thinking it would be.  That gives me a lot of hope it won't be as bad as it seemed! Thank you for posting this.  If you find more, please post them here.

I found a couple of aerial photos of Opal Creek showing most of it burned - posted on the Opal Creek facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/opalcreekforest/posts/10157929119084412?comment_id=10157931045094412 I tried to post them directly here but I'm guessing facebook blocked them. Most of the buildings burned it sounds like, but one cabin is still standing.

A couple more from the inciweb site: Rainbow Campground - 9/16/2020:  2020_09_22-17.25.28.081-CDT.jpeg Highway 224 near Carter Bridge:  2020_09_22-17.25.59.876-CDT.jpeg

More pictures were posted today: Alder Flat Trailhead 2020_09_25-16.22.37.817-CDT.jpeg Lockaby Campground 2020_09_25-16.23.54.180-CDT.jpeg The caption on this one said some buildings in Ripplebrook were "damaged or lost" but the old Ranger station (now the store) looks like it survived OK. The trees around don't look too bad either. 2020_09_25-16.43.07.410-CDT.jpeg

Looks like a pile of debris to the left of the ranger station.  I wonder if that's the outhouse.
R
That outhouse was concrete - I wouldn't think it could burn. If you go to inciweb and click on the full size photo you can see some more detail - I'm thinking there might have been some sort of carport like thing back behind the ranger station - and that burned - but I'm not sure: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/photos/ORMHF/2020-09-09-1146-Riverside/picts/2020_09_25-16.43.07.410-CDT.jpeg

Look at the photo here http://www.ruckerworks.com/2017/02/too-much-snow/   It shows that there was a large building next to the store which doesn't appear on the inciweb photo.  Also on Google Earth: Ripplebrook-bldgs.jpg Looks like that pile of debris is the remains of that building.  It was a lot bigger than an outhouse!
R
Wow - yeah, now that I see it I remember that building - I don't think it was being used for anything though.  That was one of the 53 buildings lost according to inciweb.  I'm guessing at least some of the houses in Ripplebrook didn't survive either.

This was posted to the Forest Service Facebook page a couple days ago - it is aerial footage of the Fish Creek drainage - it is kind of a sobering video: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=708051329789627

This map shows the latest satellite imagery (like Google Maps). You need to search Estacada then scroll down to the burn area. It is sobering. https://sentinel2explorer.esri.com/

That is pretty terrifying.....  And amazing that the camera survived as long as it did.

Here are a couple of photos which ODOT says were taken along Hwy 224.  They didn't say exactly where. 27630.jpg27631.jpg
