First hint, some of the TA veterans have explored another part of this trail
R
That looks suspiciously like an old roadbed in the Fish creek drainage.

Too easy. I found this spot of interest in the area where the '38 map shows the Cold Springs trail crossing Calico Creek (which the new maps label as Gingham Creek.) it was downstream of Calico Rd. (didn't find a waterfall tho, just a messy creek)

So somebody post something!

fh000012.jpg All season trail work. It was a great day on this trail.

That looks like the burn on Thunder Mountain?
D
Hey D, you can't post my photos, especially those that got me in trouble. I believe that was the last day I actually worked on that trail and took that photo of you. I did do a survey of damage from a winter storm after that on the same trail, probably the following winter when I had a broken wrist during the new wilderness additions.
D
Nope, not Thunder Mtn. Not sure if that trail ever did get fixed after the fire crews used parts of it as a "break" of some kind and didn't come back to fix it.   D.

I hiked that trail 3 years ago, and was surprised at how good of shape it was in - a little rough in spots but definitely easily hikeable.  The burned areas were recovering nicely. PA020082.jpg

Ok, I'll give you all a clue. It's the most popular trail in the District.
B
I thought it was near fish creek, but it seemed too obvious, doh

If it is the CRT, I'm out of photos....
D
Indeed. There was a time I could walk it eyes closed.   You'll just have to run up to the woods and get us a new picture.   D 2

Dug deep and found a photo of a trail in the district. I used to be able to upload photos here from an iphone, but now ill have to wait til I'm home tonight...

Current trail, This part was in a wilderness. It also used to be longer then it now is   TA_guess-1.jpg

trail starts out as an old road.. Only has one trailhead
R
The only trail that comes to mind that starts on an old road that is in wilderness is Dickey Creek, but that doesn't remind me of Dickey Creek (although it has been several years since I've been there).
B
Go west young man.   This trail does bear similar characteristics to the beginning of Dickey on the map, though
B
This photo was taken at about 2,300 ft..

Here's a wild-eyed guess - I haven't been on the trail in about 25 years. The Bagby Trail 544. 2300 ft. would be a bit past the hot springs.
