"Much longer", hmmm, was it part of the South Fork Mountain Trail?
You will have to look elsewhere in the district to find the trail I posted. The trail was part of a much longer trail back in the day, but this segment has been spared and is still enjoyed by those who hike it's path.
"Much longer", hmmm, was it part of the South Fork Mountain Trail?

No, but it follows a similiar direction in the district, and the two trails actually connect together.

Originally, I thought this was part of the Fish Creek Mountain trail, but after Don's hint, I think it is probably the Baty Butte trail.....A BEAUTIFUL ridgetop trail with oustanding views.....

Rob, you were correct then you changed your mind. It is the Fish Creek Mtn Trail and it used to tie into Baty Butte through East Mtn and Thunder Mtn, with it's northern end tying into the Clackamas River by coming down Pup Creek. Your turn.

OK, I guess I should go with my first guess!
Here is one that hopefully isn't too easy. I won't give any clues to begin with, other than to say it is a current trail in our district.

K
How about a small clue? Is that a creek or a river?
R
That would be a river (a small river).

I'm thinking maybe it has a fork in its name? Am I getting warm yet?

That would be a pretty safe bet...

Would this small river trail be in a wilderness area?

Yes it would.

Are there any ladies in the vicinity? As in, Doris, Alice, Betty or Ester?

Not in the near vicinity - Those ladies are farther east....

I thought I was getting hot, but I guess not. So you're saying this is not the Hot Springs Fork of the Collawash River? I don't see any rivers west of here. I'm confused.
R
You have to go north as well....(NE actually). It is a river, it is a fork of a river. That is a lot of clues....
D
Would this wilderness trail that follows a fork of a river be in one of the new wilderness areas or an addition to an existing wilderness?
R
It never said it follows the fork of a river, just that a fork of a river appears in that photo.
And yes, the trail is in a new wilderness area, not an extension of an existing area.

Is that the South Fork Clack, at the bottom of Hillock Burn Trail?
