What trail am I on?
R
Wow, I thought I might know where it is, but now I'm confused......
D
Would the location be Pyramid Butte in the Mount Jefferson Wilderness? I forget that wilderness area is partially in our district.
K
Don - Exactly!
Rob - Do you remember it now?
Has anyone seen any of these recreation study marker disks anywhere else? This is the first one I remember seeing.
D
Boy, that was a good guess on my part, seeing how I have never been there. Knowing that you and Rob hiked up to Pyramid Butte last fall did kind of help and that our older wilderness areas were once primitive areas prior to designation.
I have never seen one of those type of markers before.
Now I have got to look for a photo to try and stump all of you trail junkies.

OK I think I found a photo that I haven't used before.
This photo was taken from a current district trail:
What trail am I on?

That is where I was thinking it was, but you threw me off with the primitive area comment. I didn't realize it used to be called a primitive area.

The current photo was taken from a trail in a wilderness area.

It's a lake, and it looks shiny.... How about Shining Lake Trail?

R
By connector trail do you mean it has no real trailhead, but simply connects two other trails? That is what I think of when I hear connector trail. I was thinking it looked like that might be Pansy Lake, but that isn't a connector trail.

Here is another clue:
This connector trail is used to make a loop hike to a popular destination in this wilderness area.

How long ago was the photo taken?

I'm wondering if recent fires might have changed the view....
D
There weren't any fires is this area of the wilderness.
K
How about Dickey Lake?
D
That would be correct Kirk. Your turn.
