What trail am I on?
D
Just to let folks know that that is a real bad area to snow sport during avalance conditions.
I think the "lesser used" kinda threw us off.
Here's a real hard one.

Is that one of the Cottonwood meadow trail meadows?
D
No. Good try though.
Let me rephrase the clue: "Here's a real easy one."

I'm not sure I have another picture if I get it right....

Rob, That's what I was thinking when I had to put that one up. But now it's your turn. Just put up an easy one. Byron, That is a real good guess. But I think its non native grass from the Miller pasture days and no marsh Marigolds there. I assume you have been to the source. I have never been to the upper meadows there. I think they are on private property. Oh, and, out of District. Donovan

Is that the waterfall that has some petrified logs in the cliff next to the trail just to the north of the waterfall? I pass on this one, for it is way to easy.

Yes, that would be the one. I would say this trail is arguably the most popular trail in the Clackamas District. It gets a fair amount of traffic on it.

The traffic problem is probably why I don't spend a lot of time on this trail, for I tend to follow those ones which are less followed or not at all. Don't get me wrong, this trail has some amazing views of the Clackamas River as well as the local geology. This forest was blessed with an early tradition of trail developement, but was later also blessed with a lot of road development and logging which wiped out most of those trails. Those pieces of trail which were left out there, or abandoned, are the ones which I spend the most time on. Don

Clackamas River Trail about 2 miles from the upper trailhead. I love that section of trail. I'm not going to post a photo since I don't have anything to add that you all wouldn't get easily.

You are correct. Go ahead and post a photo. It is interesting to see even trails we know well, but sometimes getting a different perspective from the trail.

Very well. I gave the Wilderness, but that is all.

I didn't see the name of the wilderness this trail was in, but I'll take a stab at it anyway. It looks like it could be a couple of trails. I'll guess the Fanton trail?
