What trail am I on?
B
I've been scratching my head about the lack of guesses, now it's all making sense
R
You know, looking back at the thread, I think it is the "other Brian" - Bryon Boyce that made the correct guess. Bryon, do you have any photos of trails you can post?
B
I was just doing what I was told
B
Well, I only guessed it by process of elimination.
This one will be easy for anyone who has taken a few steps off the trail involved, if no one has, clues will follow. Taken from the top of the headwall of an ice-age glacier.

D
That was my mistake. I was going back and forth with Brian over guesses to what trail it was and I failed to notice the Bryon had come up with the correct answer. I thought that I was still dealing with Brian. Sorry about that. Another senior moment for sure.
Don
Bryon, are you up in the Olallie Lakes area?
B
Bryon, are you up in the Olallie Lakes area?
You get to this viewpoint from one of the Olallie Highlands trailheads, but its off to one side.
R
That looks like the overlook above Fish Lake?
B
You win, Your turn!
I just knew if I didn't show any trail tread, it would be too easy

Is it near the roaring River?
R
BrianEdwards said Is it near the roaring River? Not really. You are in the right general vicinity (district wise), but it isn't very close to the Roaring River. Don't know if that helps or not.
B
from Ripplebrook, do u access the TH by turning up the oak grove fork, or the main Clackamas
R
BrianEdwards said from Ripplebrook, do u access the TH by turning up the oak grove fork, or the main ClackamasWell, neither really. This trail would be north of the Roaring River. You don't go through Ripplebrook to get there.
B
Hmm only other guess I've got is maybe one of the trails near Estacada that lead to Old Baldy. Abbot Road and Roaring River being the northern boundary of the district is making this interesting

Remember - Old Baldy is essentially the northern boundary for the district in that area. At least that was my understanding. I've always had trouble knowing exactly where the boundaries were.
B
Boy I'm stumped. Is it near the Fanton Trail? That TH has beer and partying near it
R
You are getting closer. The weird part about those "trail markers" (beer cans) is that where they are isn't really close to a road. It is right in the middle of the trail at least a half mile or more from a road.
B
Wait, White Iris. That trail is faint, and goes thru a clear cut. I don't think it gets hiked much. I've never hiked it due to it basically connecting roads.
There's a surprising amount of trails over in that area.

Those cans are very near the point where the trail takes a hard right (west) turn. I missed that turn twice before finally figuring out where the trail went. Just past that point this tree was down with this odd trail marker. Your turn to post a photo. If you don't have one, I say we open it up to anyone who has a photo, since we all seem to be running out.

Spur off a current trail to a scenic spot
