That looks like the other CST?

I guess I need to spell it out for everyone. The other trail that has the same acronym as the Corral Springs Trail (CST) is the Cold Springs Trail, which I'm pretty sure is the trail in question.  Don

Nov. 7th, 2014. It's kind of eerie how dark much of the forest is through there. Even on a beautiful sunny day in November, combined with the low sun angle this time of the year it was very dark throughout much of the trail.  

The old 519 CST is posted here on TA? I dont believe ive met sir Dylan. Congrats on a successful outing

So no response from Rob! OK then, what do we say about this view from a nearby peak in our district, where am I? To be honest this photo isn't from a trail, but a peak or mountain about  a half a mile from the trail. What peak or mountain am I on? For you bushwackers out there. Don

Bryon you are correct for it was taken from Bracket Mtn this past fall as a few of us advocates were getting out during the Hwy 224 closure. We were looking for abandoned trails, but found only a user trail by geo cachers. Both Bracket Mtn and Baty Butte are geo cache sites. It is an interesting bushwack with nice views of the area. The benchmark on Bracket Mtn is from 1913. So Bryon, this means you get to post one now.

Kirk and I were up on the top of Bracket Mountain - he found the marker (and the geocache, as well as another geocache in the forest!).  Great views from up there. I think you guys probably took the easier route up there.  The one Kirk and I took was pretty brutal.  We were returning from our Surprise Lake trek and decided to come back via the ridge instead of the way we came in which was choked with vine maple. Looking forward to the next photo.  Bryon always has interesting ones to post.

This one was taken from a little side trail off a popular through route. What is the main route or can you make us an appropriate name for the side trail.

It looks like a very shallow lake - somewhere around Pansy Lake maybe?

You are getting warmer. Though this lake does get a little deeper past the edge of the picture. Those little ripples in the closest edge of the lake are a clue if you know the area. Bigger ripples nearby on this same sidetrail if you care to follow farther than most go.

So we have a popular through route that goes near a lake, but you can't see the springs bubbling next to the edge of the lake unless you take this unnamed user side trail. They don't look like hot springs or are they?

Those look like the springs that feed Clackamas Lake, off the Miller Trail. An out of District guess.   D 2

Got to love modern technology! Everyone wants the ability to respond to someone instantly if they really want to, but if it isn't urgent, they act like they have to go to the post office to send a message thru the mail. Just an observation. Why does it take so long for a response here lately?
