What trail am I on?
R
Man, I really need to get out in the woods again! None of these photos look familiar!
B
Hmmm, a steep side slope with the trail heading downhill, where have I seen that before?
Western hemlock in the picture - it drops out at 4-4500 ft. That includes most of the district. And no Pacific silver - it starts to appear at the same elevation range, so I'd guess below 3500 or so.
Just to pursue a wild guess: downhill to the left before long is there a broad flattish valley, or is it a long continuous drop straight to the stream?

Just to clarify, it was the log that kept coming down the hill, not the trail.
The trail does start off with a precipitous slide of a trail.
R
You aren't talking about Dickey Creek are you? That one certainly has a "precipitous slide" at the beginning...
D
I was worried that clue might precipitate a quick solution.
You are the new winner!
Now you get to find a picture. Maybe from a water hike. Is there a following for rain only hiking? For water lovers?
They say a dark soggy cold woods are neat, but I don't recall ever seeing any hikers in those conditions.

K
Foggy and soggy is my favorite time in the woods...alone...very peaceful
D
I agree with Karl, besides in this neck of the woods, that makes for 8-9 months of the year for hiking. It seems a waste to reserve your hiking to the 3-4 dry months that we have, but so be it, it leaves the woods that much more enjoyable for those who like solitude. I find it is alot easier to locate abandoned trails when the leaves are off the brush and that faint tread seems to standout a little more.

Well looks like that brought out the water walkers.
Hey, we need a picture. We're Jonesing.

OK, OK....Here is a photo from a current (lightly used) district trail:

R
Plaza Creek Trail?
R
Robert Koscik said Plaza Creek Trail?Wow - you are good..... I didn't even give much of a hint! Your turn!
R
I've spent a lot of time on that trail over the years, it's an odd one.
I'll come up with something!
Ok how the heck do you upload photos now? I can't find the interface on this new forum layout. Insert/edit image doesn't let you upload.
B
Click on Upload Attachments button below the Add Reply text entry box. You can drag and drop image files if you have them located or click on Add Files to navigate to the location on your computer.

Drag and drop, I didn't know that.
Thanks for the help!
Donovan sorry I missed you yesterday but at least I got it answered.
This is an active district trail.R
Is that the Southern part of Rho Ridge?
R
No sir, please try again <<BUZZZ>>
D
Hey Bob, would that trail be Rho Creek near Fadeaway Spring?
Don
R

Western Azalea?
That is on the Fanton Trail? One of the FS not so successfully managed units. Altho not as ugly as the private piece below.
D.
R
Yes, Fanton, it's a pretty distinctive area so I figured you'd get it. That lower section is such a neglected shame. I once cleared it to have motorcycles follow, great thanks.
Ok you again.
