What trail am I on?
D
That white alder brush stuff, snow beaten, looks real familiar. I was thinking White Iris Trail but now I'm going wager on 502 between Squaw Mtn and Twin Springs.
D
B
Those iris look like the Clackamas Iris. So i'M guessing 515 to Memaloose Lake.
Bryon
R
Donovan, you're somewhat in the neighborhood.
Byron, you're in the wrong time zone!
D
Now I remember, that's the last little lift up to the Squaw Mtn look out site? Where the snow always lasts forever and then some.
D.
PS That is real fun brush to cut. Soft.
R
Closer, but not yet.
R
Another hint:
if you're alert you'll find a spring.
I am out for a few days, sorry to leave you guys hanging!
D
Plaza Creek trail?
R
Close, but not quite!
R
While I don't remember that exact location, it looks a LOT like the White Iris trail that I hiked on Saturday. (or at least part of it)
R
Go east, young man.
R
Wow, you can't go too much farther east! The only other trail would be the Bissell. I don't remember seeing anything like that on that trail, but then again, I missed part of the trail.
D
This trail wouldn't be in a neighboring district like Zigzag, but having access from our district would it?
Don
D
Donald Presley said This trail wouldn't be in a neighboring district like Zigzag, but having access from our district would it? DonDo I hear the theme from Twilight Zone?
R
And a little more south. You guys are right in the ballpark.
Pick up your horse at the appropriate spring, keep a look out for lion-like waterways.
K
Would the lion-like waterway be a Cougar or a Splintercat?
R
No, they have a different sound.
K
Oh, like a "Roaring" sound?
D
Bob, it seems you have baffled all of us as to what trail you are on. Are there any other clues you might give us, for I have no clue where you are?
I am hiking tomorrow, are you?
Don
R
My goodness, any more obvious clues and I'll have to post GPS coordinates!
The CCC was involved in a nearby project. They had to keep their guard up in those days, oh geesh.
K
"if you're alert you'll find a spring" & "Pick up your horse at the appropriate spring" - Twin Springs?
+
"keep a look out for lion-like waterways" - Roaring River?
+
"They had to keep their guard up in those days" - Plaza Guard Station?
