What Trail am I am - Fall Edition
D
OK, so here is a photo to ponder about. It is a current trail and is in a wilderness area.
D
Pretty picture with those bright chips.
Looks like year round advocate maintenance.

Cripple Creek?
D
Bob it isn't Cripple Creek, but you could say it is on the same mountian.
Donavon, I think we must have a Paul Bunyan in our mist. I left that log that was parallel to the trail back in 2011 when I cut this trail out with my crosscut. I didn't think at the time that it impeded one's way and I am sure it had been there for sometime. I was on this trail last October hunting for grouse with Murphy when I took this photo and saw at least half a dozen other logs that had been chopped through with an axe. Using a crosscut would have been alot easier, unless you like to swing an axe all day long.

I can't figure out how it got beavered, unless they rolled it half way through.

It looked like way too much work to me. The person or persons doing the chopping probably didn't start with a wide enough cut and had to roll it and chop from the otherside inorder to finish the cut. Anyway there are 5-6 more logs down that I crossed that hadn't been cut out of the trail and I didn't go the full length of the trail. On this other log, I took a photo of, it looks like they were able to cut all the way through. DonDonovan said I can't figure out how it got beavered, unless they rolled it half way through. D.

I'll make a stab at it - Serene Lake Trail #512. Parts of it are at the same elevation judging from the plants in your photo.
Bryon

Bryon, it's not the Serene Lake Trail. You and Bob are in the right vicinity.

I'll bet it's Rimrock, I know you spent a lot of time up there. Eh?
D
Robert Koscik said I'll bet it's Rimrock, I know you spent a lot of time up there. Eh?Bingo! We have a winner! The Rimrock Trail it is. Your turn to post one Bob. Don

An active trail in a wilderness:

R
Since no one has guessed, I will make a guess - that looks like a reasonably well used trail, and reminds me of the Pansy Lake trail in BOTW.
D
How about the Old Baldy Trail in the new addition to the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness in our district.
Don
R
No on both counts, but Pansy is closer.
B
How about the Bagby - Silver King route ?
Bryon
R
Far (too far) south.
D
Memaloose?
D.
R
Yes, but which one?
D
Which one what?
R
One goes up, one goes down. I guess technically they are the same trail.
