What trail am I on?
R
OK, lets try this one. This is a current district trail. Where was this fine piece of trail maintenance done?
As far the buttes go, I know there was one on Pyramid Butte - we saw the foundation when we were up there. I don't think Signal Buttes ever had a lookout, but I do think there was something up there between the Buttes. I don't think Potato Butte had anything on it either.
Here is one of the footings from the old lookout on Pyramid Butte:

I don't know about anyone else, but I can't open the photo for the trail. I know, I use IE as my browser, but is anyone else having problems viewing this photo?

Another one for IE. Why is it always IE that can't seem to work the same way as the other browsers? Anyway, I made a slight change to a setting to fix a known issue with viewing photos when you aren't logged in (I guess some update messed it up and it hasn't been fixed yet). Well, it appears that setting broke IE when viewing photos that have been dropped into a message. I re-added the photo the "normal" way and you should be able to see it now.

Rob, is this current trail in a wilderness area?
R
I do not believe so.

So is this trail somewhere around 4000' in elevation?
R

Would this trail be in or near the Olallie Lakes area?

Hey, you fixed my picture problem! Works great with chrome. I used to not get more than a half tone when clicking the picture. I could click the link to see.
Now both work as they did several months ago!
My guess on the trail, Rock Lakes Trail.

Anyway, I changed how the photos were displayed (they no longer display in a popup). The trail is farther east.

How about Buck Lake?

Is that the Anvil Lake trail?
R
BrianEdwards said Is that the Anvil Lake trail?DING, DING, DING!!! We have a winner! That photo was taken last year near one of the small, un-named creeks (at least I can't find a name for them). It was recent maintenance. Your turn to post a photo.

Abandoned trail in district

R
Would that happen to be in the Fish Creek drainage? Those old mossy maples look mysteriously "Fish Creeky".
B
You're in the right area. No fish creek
D
Could this be the trail that goes up a draw between Fish Creek and the Clackamas River Trail that I've seen on some of the early maps?
D
The trail that heads south from Pup Creek Falls to Whalehead and points south?
Let's just call it Pup Creek Trail.
