What Trail am I am - Fall Edition
R
Although I can't seem to find a photo of it, I'm wondering if that is the surprise lake that is off the Fish Lake trail? It looks very shallow....
D
How about Williams Lake? It is shallow lake like that and has a clearcut just beyond the tall trees in the background, like that photo appears to have.

You guys are really touring the District there! Nothing like a mid-Winter Imagination Lake Cruise. Nice places to contemplate, but not the we are looking at.
Circle the District one more time, you'll find it.
That's kinda a clue there by the way.

Well, I'm going to guess your clue was "round" and that it is Round Lake. If I look at one of my old photos from what appears to be the other side of the lake, it kind of looks like that shallow part.
D
Clever, but no.
Circle the District back a-round to the top.
D.
K
How about Plaza Lake? It looks like it has a somewhat circular shoreline.
Kirk
D
Closer.
Head eastward.

And if the horse throws a shoe, you might want to head towards a man with an ______.

R
That is Anvil Lake? I thought it was much brushier.
That was too much of a clue!
This is an abandoned trail. It is in a roadless but not Wilderness area.
D
Kinda reminds me of an area below the rock field on Linney Mt but I don't recall yellow cedar (that is a yellow cedar, right?) in the area.

That is my older backpack, so that must be at least a couple of years ago. Bob, you are always taking pictures of my backside and Murphy is in it too. Early outing, brush hasn't leafed out yet. First campout in the spring I would imagine. I am surprised there isn't any snow in the picture.
Don
R
It is quite a ways south of Linney Country.
Is that that same as Alaskan cedar? I think it is.
D
There's not a bunch of clues in that picture except the yellow cedar, the moss covered wash of stones . . .
Are we on a north side of something?
D
R
It is a riparian area, just west of big waters.
D
I noticed something else in the picture: Is that a growed in with alder road in the muddle ground?
R
No roads, just lots of water and erosion. Big trees nearby.
D
OK then, her goes my guess: Lower Burnt Granite.
R
You're in the ballpark. Go downstream.
D
Hey Bob, isn't the BB upstream from Lower Burnt Granite, where the Big Trees grow?
Don
R
Oh geesh you're right, UP stream. Who's on first?
