You have to give us a LITTLE hint!  Current trail, wilderness or not?
D
I am going to make some  assumptions of your posted photo. Is that Mount Jefferson viewed from the north, lets say from the Olallie Lakes Scenis Area? If my assumptions are correct, I still don't have a clue what trail you are on, just limiting my search.

No zoom or telephoto lens involved. Egypt. Triangulate.

Could that be the Pyramid Butte Trail off of the PCT way south in the district?
D
Don, you are getting close.

Is it from Double Peaks?
D
How about from Ruddy Hill? Which would have been my first guess, but you mentioned Egypt, so I guessed Pyramid Butte. I think I see Pyramid Butte in the foreground of your photo.

Ruddy Hill Trail is it. Yes, that's Pyramid Butte. Now you get to find a picture.

This is a trail crossing on a creek on a  long abandoned trail. The reason there are so many logs across the trail at this crossing is that this area got burnt by a couple of fires in the past. It is currently in one of the new wilderness areas in our district.

And Don, how many people, except BigPaw, have been through here in say, the last 30 years?

I can't speak  for others, but I have only been there once so far. I plan on going there again this summer, once the mosquitoes have lifted. BigPaw must have gotten thirsty doing all those smoke signals up on the buttes to want to come down here to get a drink of water.

Since this posting didn't draw anymore posts then yours Donavon, I am giving it back to you. Your reference to "BigPaw" or cougar is correct. This is the crossing on the  Cougar Creek Trail now in the Roaring River Wilderness, it is between Signal Buttes to the east and Indian Ridge to the west. Hopefully this summer I will be able to connect the two ends of trail together.

Didn't Doug Firman pass on one?

I have been trying to upload a new picture, but with no success.  I am getting this error message after going through the upload process: File upload failed - please check your permissions for '/home/trailadv/trailadvocate.org/wp-content/forum-image-uploads...  I checked my permissions and it appears that I have permission to upload images. plus it says also check your php.ini settingsI have no idea what this means. The upload feature has worked fine before and I haven't changed anything that I know of.  Any suggestions?

Doug: I'm working on this issue.  I'm not sure what caused it, but I've been working with the forum software authors to figure it out.  I upgraded the forum software a bit ago to fix one issue and it appears to have caused another issue. So much for progress... If you want to create a posting and send the picture to me, I can upload it into your posting. Sorry.....

I found that hosting the pictures elsewhere (Photobucket) and linking to them works. I can't post pictures through here either. Linking from outside? It's not too hard to learn. I figured it out and I have about as much interest cybery as I do in speaking Dutch.
