I have turned off the ability for new users to register because we were getting lots of bogus registrations (spammers).  I will try and turn it on in a few weeks and see what happens.  In the meantime, if you would like to register, send an email to webmaster@trailadvocate.org with the following info:

• Your Full Name
• Your email address

And account will be created and a password will be assigned and emailed to you, which you can change it you want.

I have re-enabled user registration, however now registrations must be approved before they will be active.  Hopefully that will cut down on the spam volume. Thanks for your patience.

Well, the approval step didn't appear to slow down the spam bots (I got 6 fake registrations in a few hours after I re-enabled it), so I added another step – Math.  That seems to slow them down (I hope)……It seems to have worked on theses forums.

All the steps haven't curbed the spammers and there is about 100:1 spam user requests to real users.  I have turned off new user registrations again since denying all the spam users is getting very tiresome.
