Experimenting with site performance improvements
R
I have implemented a new mechanism that greatly speeds up the site for all the pieces except the forum. It is a caching plugin that creates static pages for all content that doesn't change frequently. I have to disable it for logged in users, however.
I'm still experimenting with it, but if you have feedback on how it is working for you, please let me know.

Don't know if your changes have anything to do with it, but the post I just made has something I have never seen before.
Two copies of the upper left hand corner logo saying 'Trail Advocates' (on two lines) showed up. I did not enter any code, images, nothing but the couple of lines of text I sent.
I also notice the tabs that hold anything on your site display the full web address, not the page title as is usual.

That is odd - I do not see that at all. (the two header lines). What browser are you using? I continue to update the forum software to stay current with any security updates, so things may creep in when I do that. I tried several things with IE and Chrome, but don't see any odd behavior like that.
The title bar issue I have noticed, but it is only an issue in the forum. If you are on other pages, they should display as normal. I've not been able to find a solution to it in the forums. It is strange - when the page first loads, it had a title, but something is changing it. The only thing I've been able to figure out is that it has something to do with the theme, but nothing I've tried has fixed it.

This is a strange one all right! And its not a little thing - these things are partial copies of your Home page. Where that code comes from I have no clue - my posts were just text with no included code, links, pictures, nothing. The links in these things work. You can type in search words and perform a search, though only the title made up of your search terms shows up.
I'm using Firefox on a nine-year-old Mac running 10.6.8, which is the most recent system it will run. This was not a problem a few days ago. Before 2-18-2015 this was not happening.
Here are some screenshots.

I miss the forum links that used to be on the right side and linked directly to the most recent posts. I used those links all the time to see what was recently posted. Are they somewhere else now?
B
I've noticed the disappearance of those sidebar links as well. It takes more time to go to forums and find and click on the most recent post link to accomplish the same thing.
A couple of notes on observations on the "mini-page" issue I am having.
It looks like these mini-pages are your mobile site. Looking at your homepage on my iPhone, the layout is identical, with all breaks the same. The actual content displayed, however, varies.
The second observation is that they show up when I'm running Windows just like they do on the Mac. This leaves the real mystery as to why I see them but others don't.
Just viewed the Preview and I do not see another set of the mini-pages.

OK, I've restored the side bar and disabled the prior caching mechanism I was experimenting with. I had to remove the forum postings since that was dynamic content. Hopefully things are better now.
Bryon - the "mobile" site is what is called "responsive". You can simulate it by shrinking your browser window. I'm not sure why you seem to be the only one having those issues. I will continue to look at it, though.
