Trail Maintenance

I came across a really interesting photo for sale on ebay which shows the Carter Bridge being moved into position in 1967. I'm assuming that this was a reconstruction due to damage done by the Dec. 64 flood. The photo is dated July 67, two and a half years after the flood. That's quite a long period of time for that bridge to have been out. I wonder if there was a temporary bridge during that time.
That is a very neat photo, Doug! How on earth did you find it?
I thought I had a copy of a photo showing that bridge where it washed out in that flood, but I can't find it now. From what it looked like to me, the river changed course, cut a new riverbed and washed out the old bridge (the southeast end of it). I think they filled in that end with rock, etc which is why there is a large empty spot there still.

Rob, that photo of the 64 flood that you're looking for is in this thread: http://www.trailadvocate.org/s.....clackamas/
