I managed to get out last Saturday and enjoy some fine springtime weather in the woods looking or an old lost trail up the Clackamas. I hoped others were able to get out or will do so this weekend, for it looks to be an awesome time. I will be out of the area over near Boise, Idaho for the weekend with family and friends, but my heart will be out there, on a trail somewhere in our district. You can put off yard or garden work for one day, get out there and hike somewhere.

I am hoping to make a stop to look for morels on Friday on the eastside of Mt Hood as we make our way east to Idaho.

I wish I could!  But the bus needs new back brakes, that will be at least part of my weekend.  And of course I have to replace a CV boot.  Tomato starts in the ground?

I'm looking forward to some nice warm weather!

Hope you have a safe trip.

I would love to as well, but too many other things are pressing.  I will be at a scout function (Camporee) on Saturday, and family obligations are calling.

I REALLY would LOVE to get out this weekend.....

I also just returned from a Camporee, and have been doing a lot of fishing as the salmon swim through the middle of Portland on their way home. Next is a trip to the coast, and some clam digging. So no hiking yet. Oregon just has too many outdoor opportunities!

Which district did you go to?  Ours was at the old Roslyn Lake park.  PGE has allowed us to use the place for the last two years, even though it is closed.  It is a beautiful place!

Oregon does have too many outdoor opportunities!  Especially this time of year.

We just got moved into the Lewis & Clark district, and they participated in a combined Camporee with 3 other districts, called ScoutJam. It was at the old Trojan plant in Rainier, and about 2000 people were there. Big change from our old North Clackamas district that would have about 1/10 that number of folks.
