So I don't know where to put this question so hopefully this is ok. I'm involved in a new project along the Clackamas River to be located just upstream of Lazy Bend Campground. We are looking for a good name for the site. I was hoping for something that would relate to the history or geography of that area but really, anything interesting in the Clackamas district might work. The name doesn't necessarily have to be river-related. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

It would be helpful to know a little more about the project - who, what, where?

Probably not a hydro plant.

I would guess boat ramp/parking area or something.

How about "Voyageur" in honor of the great river mariners who helped create Oregon as we know it.

Be curious to know what this new project is. Most likely having to do with water recreation? Here's some local Chinook words and their meaning

Alkie: Slow
Canim: Canoe, made of Cedar
Cooley: To run, race
Deláte: Straight; direct; without equivocation
Eena: Beaver
Giordano: Former Kayaker, now old man. Wait, I made that up <g>

Hyak: Swift, Fast, in a hurry
Kiwa: Crooked
Klip: Deep Water
Kull: difficult, hard
Mimie: Down Stream

Pish: Big fish

Poo: Sound of gunshot (no really, look it up)
Sitshum: To swim (say it ten times fast..!)
Tolo: To Win

Hope you guys win in your venture!
