While looking through some historical photo archives at UofO, I found this image, which just says "Section of trail and bridge along the Clackamas River built by Timber Lake Job Corpsmen" , but was dated 1965.   I think this was part of the Alder Flat trail construction - looks like one of the bridges down in the flat area:

Actually the dating is probably correct. The Timber Lakes Job Corps was founded as a result of the passage of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society legislation in 1964. That bridge and trail was one of the first projects.

Gorden Reinhart was one of the first instructors there and supervised on this project. He went on to invent the Reinhartski, which saw wide use in firefighting, site prep and other uses in the forest service.

Can we put that picture in historical department?

I was a boy at the time but that is how I like to remember the Forest Service, cruiser jacket and tie.
