Much nicer than the photos of maps from the U of O map library. The downside is the image format is mrsid and only viewable using a free download from lizardtech.com – I've not been able to figure out how to download the images themselves for conversion. The upside is it is easy to make screen captures and stitch the resulting captures together to get a complete image. I've been able to do this stitching and crop the images so they can be georeferenced and displayed in Google Earth in a seamless fashion. You can then set transparency on the image to allow the GE imagery to show through – this is great for seeing what sections of a trail might exist in between clearcuts. This will make it easy to compare map trail locations with GPS located trails.

I like the '56 maps as they have names for most trails though I'm a little skeptical about USGS maps with regards to accurate trail locations.
