Trail Conditions
The 4635 road is getting pretty rough and brushy the further up you go. It also has pretty large potholes that have developed. Cars can still navigate the road but will need to be cautious. There are quite a few new downed logs in the burn area on the west end of the trail, but once you get thru that there are not too many downed logs until you get near the overlook area - that area seems to get LOTS of blowdown and a number of trees came down last winter. The good news is that the trail thru the burned area is pretty easily followable now - each year since the fire it gets a little better.
The bugs were the worst at the west end - probably due to the swampy area near there. They didn't bother me too much while hiking.
It was a beautiful day on the trail with amazingly clear views from the overlook. I did not continue down to the end at the 5830 road.
